Wide Trousers and an Open Jacket for Holiday Days

Lightly Sketch the Holiday centers on loose lower layers and relatively simple upper shapes. The overview mixes pale jackets, sleeveless tops, short dark bottoms and long wide trousers. In one full-length image, an open pale jacket sits over a short light top and wide blue jeans; another shows a patterned bandeau with cream trousers from the front and back.

The jacket-and-jeans combination keeps the waist visible. The open front separates the jacket’s pale panels instead of making one solid block across the torso. Below, the broad jean legs continue to the floor, giving the outfit a long lower line.

The bandeau combination uses a different balance: a small patterned area at the top above a much larger plain trouser shape. The back view helps show the upper opening and how the waistband sits below it. That view is useful when deciding how much coverage you want, since the front alone cannot show the whole outfit.

To adapt the first look, try your own wide jeans with a short top and an open shirt or jacket. If you prefer more coverage, choose a top that meets the waistband and keep the outer layer open. You still get the separation between pale outerwear and darker denim.

For the cream-trouser version, use the top shape you are comfortable with—a bandeau, tank or sleeveless blouse—and keep the trouser hem clear of the ground in your chosen shoes. Check the top from the side and back, especially if it relies on straps or a close fit.

These photographs belong to the April 2025 holiday archive. They provide different ways to combine length and coverage, without making the old looks a current stock list. FireladyFur’s Spring & Summer collection is the place to compare present-day separates for your own version.
